Live Weather Ceremony September 23 2026 | Singing to the Elements

Hi there, In the middle of everything happening with the weather and the earth right now, there is something simple and real a human being can offer — not as a fix, but as love. Your body already knows something about relationship. The water inside you and the water falling as rain belong to the same living world. Your bones and the stones of the earth carry the minerals of this earth. The air moving through your lungs is the same air moving across the mountains. You are not separate from what is happening around you. You never were. In living animistic traditions, the earth is not something you simply observe from the outside. You live in relationship with it. For us, that relationship includes singing to the elements — not because we believe singing controls storms, but because singing can be an offering: a thank you, a recognition, a message of love and relationship to the spirits of the earth. This Wednesday, September 23 at 12 PM Eastern, Kirsten and Merissa are leading a live weather ceremony on Patreon. We will sing to each element by its Quechua name: Pachamama, Mamacocha, Ninamama, Huayramama, Unumama, and Mama Eternisqa. We will offer tobacco, cacao, and chamomile. We will light a candle and blow our prayers into it. You don't need special equipment to participate. All you need is your voice. If you have a rattle or a tea light candle, you're welcome to use them, but they aren't required. We have been doing this work for three years now, regularly throughout the summer and hurricane season. Each ceremony has its own quality. The room shifts. Something answers. We experience this work as reciprocal: when we show up in relationship with the earth, that relationship changes us too. If something in you recognizes this, you are invited to join us.
